Practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture requires in-depth educations. This photo shows a part of the references book shelves.
Hands-on experiences builds on classic and modern fundamental knowledge. Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine are not just inserting needles randomly or giving out several herbal remedies.
Several Chinese herbal formulas have been patterned by western pharmaceutical companies. A lot of allopathic practitioners are learning acupuncture and hospitals have adopted acupuncture for their patients.
Maybe it is time for you to reconsider what acupuncture and Chinese herbal treatments can do for you.
Herbal remedies have been used to treat diseases and symptoms in China for thousands of years.
Practicing herbs in the U.S., is not an easy task. The herbal supplies must first meet FDA safety guild lines; some of the herbs such as ephedra which is used to reduce asthma and whizzing were restricted by FDA.
The chemical compounds such as ephedrine and pseudoephedrine found in ephedra were allowed to use in inhaler to reduce breathing difficulties. Chinese used an ephedra decoction to reduce coughing and whizzing yet the formula is restricted. A double standards?
All raw herbs and its powders used in our herbal dispensary were provided by reputable US herbal companies and meet FDA safety guild lines.
There are two types of herbal extracts: one is single herbs and the other is pre-made herbal formulas.
These products were approved by FDA and provided by reputable US herbal suppliers.
In terms of medical effects from the greatest to the least, biochemical compounds were formed in a herbal decoction which has the best treatment effects. The second effective treatment is followed by the raw herb powders and herbal extract powders. The most convenient herbal pills has the least treatment effects.
This photo shows the herbal extracts which were all approved by FDA.
This photo shows the raw herbs which were used in Dr. Chin acupuncture clinic.
Generally speaking, raw herb formula can made up of one single herb or up to 15 or more single herbs. From patients' feedback, the taste of raw herbs decoction isn't pleasant at all and is not appealing. Yet it is the most effective remedy.
Scientific research has shown that within the raw herb decoction, biochemical compounds forms a wave-like structures with either carbon, oxygen or hydrogen molecules at the end.
Scientific research also shown that more condensation of the herbal formula, the better the treatment effects.
when you are sick, do you care about how badly does the herbal decoction taste and look or how badly you wish to get healed?
This is a private single treatment room. It is a spacious and quiet setting in a safe residential neighborhood.
Comparing to an office in a medical building, this private single treatment room has all settings that are required for medical performance.
Some patients like a hospital-like setting treatment room, another patients like a very private treatment room. It is all depends on a personal taste.
However, safety is our major concern and our treatment room is the best.

Leech therapy has been considered as a beneficial treatment and leech bites are not painful because in the secrete leech saliva, there is a protein called anesthetic.
There are more proteins found in the leech saliva such as hirudin as an anticoagulant, apyrase, collagenase and calin as platelet aggregation inhibiters, vasodilators and proteinase inhibitors.
Leech therapy has a broad applications nowadays. It has been used for reconstructive post-surgery rehabilitation such as finger, ear, nose, lip, eyelid reattachment to promote the blood circulation so that the reconstructive part can be kept alive again.
Leech therapy has also been used to treat varicose vein, thrombo phlebitis, muscle cramps and osteoarthritis etc..
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, leech as been used as a herb to treat blood stagnation, pain causes by internal injury or cancer.
Medical leeches were slightly different from those were caught in the wild; medical grade is safe and clean and if well kept in clean environment, they can survive for about 180 days.
Leeches used in medical treatment were very personal--no repeated use on the same person and never used on another patient.
Before leeches were used in the treatment, they were tiny and skinny; after the treatment, they will at least double the size in length and tripled or quadrupled in diameter. In this photo, two leeches become enlarged and sedated after the treatment.
Following the increase demands in medical treatment, leech farm can be found in the US, China, or some Southeastern countries.
Other than medical treatment purposes, leech has been used in cosmetic purpose as well. Information can be found in public medias.
Leech therapy is the best choice for all kinds of blood stagnation. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, blood letting is one of the traditional acupuncture technique; leech therapy works for the same purpose yet with the best results.
Blood letting can only draw blood from, for example, a thrombophlebitic spot or area; after the blood letting treatment, the stagnation will submerge again in a couple of days.
While using the leech therapy, the proteins in the leech saliva will be circulated into the blood stream and removed blood coagulation from the entire tissue or muscle; and therefore, cure the thrombophlebitis.
In this photo, a repeated thrombophlebitis was not cured before the leech therapy. After the leech therapy, the infection of severe varicose veins was completely healed.
In this photo, an infection on the toe can be seen in front of the attached leech. Infection in minute areas is hard to healed especially when the glucose level is high.
Leech therapy is one of the methods to choose to heal the infection or to solve the poor blood circulation in the minute areas, especially in the reconstructive surgeries.
If you ever had a never healed thrombophlebitis, or a blacken tissue after the reconstructive surgery, take leech therapy in a timely manner will save your reconstructive tissue or save you from the varicose vein surgery.
